Friday

It’s been a fantastic week so far and today is our last day. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to sit down and write about all the wonderful things happening here. Please be praying that our students end well today. That we can finish our projects and leave a lasting impression on those we come into contact with. We have a lot to do today, a lot to be thankful for, and one more beautiful day in Santa Cruz.

Wednesday

Thank you for all your prayers! We are having a wonderful trip and today we take the kids to the Aquarium. Should be a ton of fun for the little ones! Be in prayer for our painting team at the homeless center. Pray that they would get a ton done today and that they would have so much fun doing it. Pray for our Watsonville crew that they would be able to interact with more people at the senior center and bless them. Yesterday they gave some of the elderly flowers just to say we love you. Thank you again for all your prayers.

Day 2 a little late

As we start day two we are coming off a great day on Monday. Our kids camp had almost 20 children show up to play with our students. The team was full of energy and spent seven hours playing and singing and running around. Without at doubt, they are tired today. This morning they will be rock climbing with the older kids, age eight to twelve and the younger kids will stay behind to play games.

Our Nerd Herd and Painting Crews are getting to work on the third floor library and lounge and they’ll begin the process of sketching out a mural and refurbishing 12 donated computers. They’ve got a lot of work ahead of the but they can do it.

Our work crew in Watsonville is heading back out to the Meals on Wheels dining center to finish up the work they started there. They will be painting and serving meals to the elderly who use the dining facility and doing some cleanup around the homeless center.

It’s amazing to look back and know that we have only been here for two days and we have five more to go. We’ve seen God do some mighty things in us and through us and we are just getting started. Pray that today, our students and adults would rely on Gods strength to carry them through the day. Pray that they would be coming together as a team and learning to love one another. Pray that our teams would make an impact on those we serve today and that those we serve would see the face of Jesus in us. Praise God with use for the students whose lives are being transformed on this trip. Thank you for all you prayers and trusting us with your kids. We love them and it’s so much fun to watch them serve and grow.

We Serve a Great God!

Words can’t describe the power that God is and the way He calls us to Himself. It’s only been two days and we’ve seen some remarkable things happen in Santa Cruz. Last night at our Chapel Time the presence of the Lord was so close and we saw several students take there first steps forward in faith. It’s such a blessing and honor to be there to participate with them as they start their journey of faith. And just in case you are wondering, each of the students in the picture gave their permission to put their photo up here!

Our projects went very well yesterday. All the teams were working well together and we are excited to see where the entire week leads. Pray that today our students would have the energy the need to continue moving through their projects, loving little kids, and that they would have time to pause and reflect on what God is doing in their lives. Pray that they would continue to bond as a team and that those who took their first steps forward in faith last night would be encouraged by us all.
